Builders Care was founded by the Citrus County Builders Association. Established in 2006, with the mission to reduce substandard housing by providing repair services to seriously deteriorated homes belonging to the low income, elderly and disabled in Citrus County.

For many, Builders Care is their last hope to maintain any quality of life at home. Builders Care specializes in making homes handicapped-accessible, siding and leaks, painting, making general repairs, and installing heating and air conditioning. Special preference is given to Health and Safety issues.

    To become a recipient of the assistance you must meet the following stipulations:
  1. Must be a Citrus County, Florida Resident
  2. Must be the property owner of record. Renters are not permitted. (If in a mobile home park, release must be signed by land owner.)
  3. Must be a site built home or manufactured home in a permanent setting.
  4. Must allow publicity of projects in the form of photographs, video, and press releases.
  5. Must be willing to sign a release of liability if work is performed.
  6. Income verification is required.

Current Events

Due to low funding, we are only able to assist seniors over the age of 60 at this time.

Builders Care does not currently have a paid staff person and is run strictly by volunteers. Unfortunately this means that response times to calls, emails and needs requests are slower than usual. Please be patient, someone will respond to you.
